Rachakonda: On 5.2.2022 at around 4 pm two persons named Mohammed Ansar(19) S/o Suleman, of Dist. Kasaragod, Kerala, and Hassainar(42) s/o Podiyabba, of Mangalore district, Karnataka state have been arrested.
On the evening of 05-Feb-2022 at around 4 pm on receiving reliable information from credible sources about the illegal transportation of banned drugs by an interstate drug peddling gang hailing from Karnataka and Kerala states, S1 Mr. Choutuppal( D. Anil) along with revenue officials and Police staff organized vehicle checking at Reddibavi village of Choutuppal Mandal on NH No. 65 towards Hyderabad during the process, a police team intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No. KA-14-C-2477 Swift Desire and upon thorough search in the vehicle the interception team has been able to apprehend the accused Mohammed Ansar and Sri Hassainar along with contraband worth Rs.46, 50,000/- which included Dry Ganja 100 KGs, Hashis Oil 19 Kgs, One Swift Desire Car bearing No. KA-14C-2477, and three mobile phones.
During the interrogation, it is revealed that the accused along with five others Faizal, Kabeer, Murthy, Shaik Abdulla, Nowshad formed as a gang and operating as an interstate drug smuggling group and sourcing the contraband from lambasingi to via Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mangalore to Kerala (Kasaragod district) are indulging in doing smuggling for the last two months. It is learned that the accused were able to smuggle the contraband to Kerala from Lambasingi Area last Month also. Their modus operandi includes a vehicle piloting the main vehicle to identify any interruption from the police, avoiding toll gates, and moving in unexpected road routes to avoid being arrested by Police.
The above work was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Mahesh M Baghavath IPS, CP Rachakonda, and Addl. CP Mr. Sudeer Babu, DCP Mr. K. Narayana Reddy, IPS, Mr. N. Uday Reddy, ACP. Choutuppal. This case has been registered of NDPS Act and was being investigated by CI Ramannapet (Mothiram), Superior Officers have commended the team of police officers including CI Mothiram, SI Mr. Anil, and his team for successfully arresting the interstate criminal gang and seizing the contraband.
