Chhattisgarh, Kabirdham: Demonstrating their vigilance and commitment to combating organized crime, the Kabirdham District police successfully uncovered and foiled a sophisticated ganja smuggling operation. Acting on intelligence and during routine checks, a team led by the Chilfi police intercepted a suspicious vehicle at the excise check post. Upon a thorough inspection, the officers discovered a specially designed welded chamber concealed within the car, containing a staggering 34.320 kilograms of ganja.
Further investigations revealed that the illegal consignment was being transported from Odisha to Rajasthan, highlighting an intricate inter-state network of narcotics distribution. The two accused, identified as residents of Rajasthan, were apprehended on the spot and taken into custody for further interrogation.
The meticulous operation, a testament to the efficiency of the district police, resulted in the seizure of contraband and assets valued at approximately Rs 11.90 lakh. This includes the ganja, the modified vehicle used for the smuggling, and mobile devices that could provide vital leads into the network. The successful bust underscores the importance of vigilance and proactive policing in tackling drug trafficking across state borders.
