Rachakonda: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Rachakonda was established in our Rachakonda Commissionerate on 30th July 2020 at LB Nagar Camp office under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Mahesh M. Bhagwat, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Commissionerate with the Incharge officer K.Chandra Sekhar, Inspector of Police and Team.
The AHTU, Rachakonda has operations against human trafficking in the Rachakonda Commissionerate level and have cracked (30) complicated human trafficking cases from 01st Jan 2021 to 31st May 2021 and have also rescued over (102) victims and apprehended (81) human traffickers including sex buyer/Customers and also placed (28) notorious traffickers under Preventive Detention.
The Apprehensions made are as follows: (30) complicated cases apprehension from both commercial sexual exploitation and labor exploitation were completed in this period. The team did tactical operations and follow up the cases.
Sex trafficking accused/Traffickers that were apprehended was 55 and Labor Trafficking accused/Traffickers that were apprehended was 26 and the total was 81.
Apprehended (55) traffickers from Sex Trafficking included 38 men and 17 women. These included (37) organizers and (18) Sex buyers/Customers. The age profile of the traffickers ranged from 25-50 years.
Apprehended (26) accused/traffickers from Labour Trafficking were all men. These included (25) company-owners/Traffickers and (01) was a Transporter.
The Rescues made by the police are as follows: (30) complicated rescues from both commercial sexual exploitation and labor exploitation were completed in this period. Putting day & night efforts, the team did intelligence gathering, conducting rescue operations, and follow up the cases until they were charge-sheeted.
Sex Trafficking Victims were31 and Labor Trafficking Victims were 71 and the total was 102.
The Police rescued (31) victims from sex trafficking 30 were adults and one was a minor victim. The victims belonged to 1) Telangana State-12, 2) Andhra Pradesh-5, 3) Maharashtra-3, 4) West Bengal-7, 5) Assam-1, and 6) the country of Uganda – 03.
Rescued (71) minor victims from labor trafficking all of them (55) were boys and (16) were girls and all are below the age of 17 years in hazardous industries. The minor victims are belonging to 1) Telangana State-12, 2) Andhra Pradesh-1, 3) Chatishgadh -13, 4) Jharkhand-10, 5) Maharashtra-09, 6) Madhya Pradesh-03, 7) Uttar Pradesh-11, 8) West Bengal-02 and 9) Bihar -10.
In Rachakonda Commissionerate we are conducting Operation Smile VII’ in the month of January 2021 to trace out missing children, Potential Child Labor, Bonded child labor, and Adolescents in Hazardous Occupations during the operations. In this regard, the AHTU conducted Operation Smile-VII, and a total (65) minor victims were rescued and registered (09) cases against the accused/managements, who engaged the minor children in various works.
The many traffickers are running prostitution businesses through the Locanto website with the help of victims, those who were being trafficked for prostitution. On that, the AHTU focused on “ONLINE LOCANTO DATING APP” and conducting a decoy operation and rescued the victims and also arrested the traffickers.
The traffickers of Uganda country were running the online prostitution through “ONLINE LOCANTO DATING APP” in which uploaded attractive semi-nude pictures of African young girls with Phone numbers and collecting the money from customers with the help of the victims, those who are being trafficked for prostitution. On that, the AHTU organized a decoy operation on 20.05.2021 on “Online Dating App Locanto” and apprehended (02) Uganda Traffickers and rescued (03) Uganda country victims from their clutches and also seized banned Narcotics drugs from them. All are natives of Uganda country and illegally staying in India after the expiry of Visa. Duly registered a case in Chaitanyapuri Police Station and remanded them for judicial custody.
