Vizianagaram : On January 31, under the orders of District SP Ms. M. Deepika, IPS, police officers and staff conducted raids and registered cases against illegal activities like liquor, sand, ganja, cattle smuggling, chicken betting, and poker. Police and SEB officials conducted raids, registered 2 cases, arrested 2 persons and seized 2.34 liters of IMFL liquor. Two people who were transporting sand illegally were arrested and 9 tons of sand and 2 tractors were seized in Pusapati Rega PS area. On the information of SB, the police raided those who were playing poker in the area of Badangi Police Station, arrested 5 persons and seized Rs.2,050/- in cash. Police raided those who were playing chicken betting in the area of L. Kota Police Station, arrested 6 people and seized 2 chicken balls and cash of Rs.10,200/- from them. 39 cases were registered against those who consumed alcohol in public places and disturbed public peace. 18 cases have been registered against those who drink and drive vehicles. 126 cases were registered against the violators of Motor Vehicles rules and Rs. 18,510/- was levied.
People were made aware of Disha SOS app and 32 people downloaded the app. So far 7,87,259 people have downloaded the app and 4,58,688 people have registered. Police officers conducted visible policing under the orders of District SP Mrs. M. Deepika IPS and in the district police office and made people aware of women’s safety, cyber crimes and road safety. SP Mrs. M. Deepika, IPS held a crime review meeting at the district police office, reviewed the grave and non-grave cases and ordered the officers to complete the investigation in the pending cases quickly, and the concerned CIs and SIs to visit the courts and observe the prosecution in order of priority so that the accused are punished in the trial cases.
