Dharmapuri: Under the direct supervision of Balakot Sub Division Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Manokaran, Inspector Partheepan from Karimangalam Police Station, Assistant Inspector Sundharamurthy, and the police team were conducting intense surveillance at the Kumbhara Alli check post. During this, they stopped and inspected two luxury cars passing through, discovering 1 ton of gutka valued at Rs.5 lakh. The police arrested the two drivers, identified as Jeetish (45) from Kerala and Shurubin (29), who were smuggling gutka from Karnataka to Kerala. Following the arrest, both cars and the gutka were seized. A case was registered, and the suspects were produced in court and subsequently imprisoned.
