Gwalior: As per the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, Gwalior Mr. Amit Sanghi IPS, effective action is being taken continuously against those involved in the purchase and sale of illicit drugs and illicit liquor under drug de-addiction campaign in the district. In line with these instructions, Crime Branch and Police Station University Police have succeeded in arresting a smuggler with illegal drug smack.
On October 11, the Superintendent of Police received informer information that a smuggler was roaming around the Hanuman temple under Ajipul under the Police Station University area in a bid to sell illegal drugs. On the information of the informer, the Superintendent of Police Gwalior directed the Additional Superintendent of Police, City (East/Crime) Mr. Rajesh Dandotia IPS to take action against the smugglers who smuggled illegal drugs. The Superintendent of Police, City (East/Crime) sent a joint team of Crime Branch and Police Station University Police to the place mentioned by the informer to nab the miscreant who smuggled illegal drugs.
In pursuance of the instructions given by the senior officers, under the guidance of CSP University Mr. Ratnesh Tomar, a joint team of police under the leadership of police station in-charge Mr. Manish Dhakad and in-charge Crime Branch Uni Narendra Sisodia caught the suspect from the place mentioned by the informer. During interrogation, he described himself as a resident of Karauli Matamahal village, Gwalior. On searching the person, 50 grams of smack worth about five lakh rupees was found in white colored polythene from him which was duly confiscated. A case of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused in the Police Station University and he is being questioned regarding the smack.
