Gwalior: As per the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, Gwalior Mr. Amit Sanghi IPS, an effective campaign is being run against those involved in the purchase and sale of illicit drugs in the district. Under this campaign, a joint team of Police Station Crime Branch and Hazira Police Station has succeeded in arresting a smuggler and his fellow female smuggler with illegal smack worth Rs.3,00,000/-.
On November 29, the Superintendent of Police Gwalior had received information from the informer that a drug smuggler from Shatabdipuram side near Yadav Dharmakanta bridge under Hazira police station was about to leave on a motorcycle. On the information of the informer, the Superintendent of Police, Gwalior, Additional Superintendent of Police, City (East/Crime) Mr. Rajesh Dandotiya IPS by forming a joint team of Crime Branch and Police Station Hazira, immediately sent them to the place mentioned by the informer to nab the suspects of illegal drug smuggling. In compliance with the instructions given by the senior officers, under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police Crime Mr. Ratnesh Tomar, Mr. Vijay Bhadauria, and City Superintendent of Police Maharajpura Mr. Ravi Bhadauria, taking immediate action on the information, Station In-Charge Crime Branch Niri, Mr. Damodar Gupta and Station-In-Charge Hazira Mr. Manish Dhakad’s team laid siege and arrested a male and a female suspect riding a motorcycle. On search of the arrested suspects, 280 grams of smack and Rs.3500 in cash were recovered from the possession of the man and twenty grams of smack from the possession of the woman. In this way, a total of three hundred grams of smack was received, which has been duly confiscated and both have been arrested. A case of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused in Hazira police station and they are being questioned regarding smack.
