Gwalior: On the direction of Superintendent of Police, Gwalior Mr. Amit Sanghi IPS, keeping an eye on the gram panchayat elections in Gwalior district, a campaign is being run to nab the miscreants selling illegal liquor. Under this campaign, Superintendent of Police Gwalior directed Additional Superintendent of Police City Central Mrs. Hitika Vasal IPS and City Superintendent of Police Gwalior Mr. Nagendra Singh Sikarwar IPS to form a team under his subordinates to nab the miscreants selling illegal liquor.
Taking action in compliance with the instructions, on December 21, SHO Tighra in charge of Mr. Suresh Singh Kushwaha received information from the informer that two persons were taking illegal OP liquor from Gwalior to the village Lakhanpura police station Tighra in CNG auto for sale. Acting on the information, the station in-charge Tighra along with his police team started checking after reaching Lakhanpura at the place mentioned by the informer.
During checking, the police team saw a CNG auto approach, which after seeing the police checking started trying to drive away. The auto was cordoned off by the police team. After searching the caught auto, a person was sitting in the back seat for two plastic cans, OP was found to be full of alcohol on the search of the cans and plastic bottles and lids in two sacks in the rear of the auto Found, which was duly confiscated by the police team. Against both the arrested persons, a case was registered under the Excise Act in Tighra police station and taken up for investigation.
