Rachakonda: The 6th Phase of Haritha Haaram, the flagship program of Telangana state Government was launched on 25.6.2020 by Mr. CH. Mallareddy, Hon’ble Minister for Labour and Employment, Factories and Skill Development and Mr. Mahendar Reddy IPS, Hon’ble Director General of Police, Telangana state at Rachakonda Commissionerate land which extends to 56 acres in Medipally. Earlier in November 2019, the foundation stone for the compound wall of Commissioner of Police office land has been laid by Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Hon’ble Minister for Home, Prison and Fire Service. Today, the land has been developed and as part of the Haritha Haaram program, avenue plantation along the major roads has been planned and a total of 1673 plants are being planted. The plants belong to native species and have been selected to develop the place as a hub of biodiversity. All plants have been located as per the functionality of the upcoming buildings of Rachakonda Commissionerate in the location.
Speaking on the occasion Mr.CH. Mallareddy emphasized the importance of the Haritha Haaram program for not only Telangana state Government but also every individual and their children who would require plenty of oxygen. Hence the program should be taken as a festival by everyone and every family should plant at least 3 trees. He also assured the farmers who parted with their land for Commissioner of Police office with alternate land from the Collector, Medchal-Malkajgiri. He further suggested that the 30-acre land available in Yadadri should also be developed in a similar fashion. Mr. Mahendar Reddy IPS, Hon’ble Director General of Police, Telangana State said that the Police Department is taking an active role in achieving the aim of the Haritha Haaram program of State Government. While appreciating the vision with which the plantation is planned he also suggested that each plant sampling has to be taken care of till it grows to its full extent.
Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda appraised the Guests of the progress in the Rs.2.27 Crore compound wall and thanked Mayor Peerzadiguda for laying BT road, urban forestry of HMDA for cooperating in the plantation and the farmers.
