Chandigarh: On 24.9.2024, SHO-17 organized a comprehensive awareness program at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16 (GMSH-16), Chandigarh, aimed at educating and sensitizing doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers on critical legal frameworks and safety protocols. The program covered an extensive range of topics, including the latest updates in New Criminal Laws, with a special focus on provisions related to sexual offences under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Participants were guided through these essential legal guidelines to equip them with the knowledge needed to navigate and report incidents of harassment and abuse effectively. Additionally, the session emphasized the importance of Protecting Our Protectors, highlighting legal protections and safety measures for healthcare professionals, especially women, working on the frontlines.
The initiative was a step toward fostering a safer and more just environment; not only for the healthcare workers themselves but also for the women and children they serve, reinforcing the message of ensuring safety, justice, and dignity for all.
