Rachakonda: In an effort to root out organized Human trafficking network, running prostitution within the limits of Commissionerate and to create a sense of safety and security among the family system, College going students, and youth not to fall into trafficking network, Commissioner of Police Rachakonda invoked PD Act against one of the human trafficking offenders for organizing prostitution in the limits of LB Nagar Police Station of Rachakonda Commissionerate and detained him in Central Prison, Cherlapally on 07 05-2021.
The organizers 1) Desineni Venkateshwar Rao, 2) Smt Sakijan Khatun @ Deepika Peshma, 3) Mandala Ravi @ Srinu, 4) Mandla Avinash alias Nani, and 5) Gugloth Sujatha formed a gang and have been running prostitution from “Sai Durga’ lodge at LB Nagar, which belongs to A-1 Venkateshwar Rao. The accused Venkateshwar Rao has taken Sai Durga” lodge at LB Nagar on lease. Due to Covid 19 pandemic, it is not running well and incurred debts. As such, Initially, he has started providing room in his “Sai Durga” lodge situated at RTC Colony, LB Nagar by taking Rs 300/- from the organizers A-2 Mrs. Sakijin Khatun alias Deepika alias Reshma, A 3 Ravi, A-4 Mandla Avinash alias Nani, A-5 Gugloth Sujatha for each customer and later, he started running prostitution in his own by procuring sex-workers and male customers in his lodge He takes Rs 1,000/- from each customer and out of said business proceeds, he will only pay Rs 500/- to the victim women. Thus, his activities are prejudicial to the maintenance of public order and public health at large and thereby living on the earnings of prostitution.
The racket was busted in a joint operation headed by the AHTU team and LB Nagar Police arrested the accused Desineni Venkateshwar Rao and his associates on 16-03-2021 at Sai Durga Lodge, LB Nagar along with 4 male customers, and rescued 4 victim women hailed from West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, and the Telangana States from the brothel house. The arrested accused were remanded to judicial custody.
With a view to prevent them from indulging in human trafficking, prostitution and to preserve public order, Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda invoked the PD Act against one of them Desineni Venkateshwar Rao and lodged him in Central Prison, Cherlapally on 07-05-2021.
