Rachakonda: In order to curb spurious seeds and illegal hoardings of seeds, on 11.06.2021 at around 20:00 hours, acting on specific information, the sleuths of Hayath Nagar Police in coordination with Special branch officials and agriculture officials conducted a surprise raid and nabbed a person by the name Gopal Kamal Kishore Sureka alias G.K. Surekha (60) who is in possession of Real India Agro Tech castor seeds, Paddy seeds and lentils seeds which were stored at his godown illegally in order to sell it to the gullible farmers at an exorbitant price. During the raid the police have noticed and seized expired seeds which were collected by the accused from dealers, later he modified the expiry dates and repacked the same, and sent to dealers to sell for gullible formers to gain huge profits. The seized products include (197) rice seeds, paddy grain (150 bags), lentils seeds(28 bags), castor seeds (71) bags, packing covers on the name of Real India agro tech 400, Weighing machine-01, Sewing machines-01, and seeds purified chemical-06 all worth Rs.50.00 Lakhs from his possession. A case was registered at Hayath Nagar Police Station.
The accused G. K. Surekha has been running a seeds business at H.No.3-142/5 Santhi Nagar, Kalwancha, Hayathnagar. According to the license granted to him, he has to store and sell the seeds from his licensed shop. But, instead of doing that, he stored the Real India Agro Tech castor seeds, paddy seeds, and lentils seeds packets illegally at his godown located under the limits of Santhi Nagar, Kalwancha. Hayathnagar, moreover he had collected expired seeds from the dealers, later he modified expiry dates and repacked the same in order to sell it in black-market at the exorbitant price. Along with the above-branded seeds.
Upon that, on 11.06.2021 at around 16:00 hours, on receipt of specific information, the sleuths of Hayathnagr Police with Special branch officials with the Help of Agriculture officials conducted a surprise raid on the godown of the accused located under the limits of Santhi Nagar, Kalwancha, Hayathnagar and caught him in possession of above seeds bags and seized the same and taken him into custody.
The above arrests were made under the supervision of Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS. Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Mr. G Sudheer Babu, IPS, Addl. Commissioner of Police. Rachakonda, Mr. Sunpreeth Singh, IPS., Dy. Commissioner of Police, LB Nagar Zone and under the guidance of Mr. K. Purusotham Reddy, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Vanasthalipuram Division, and Mr. M. Surendar, Inspector of Police, Hayathnagar Police Station, Special branch Officials of Rachakanda, Mr. D. Srinivasa Rao, Sub-Inspector of Police, Hayathnagar Police Station Mr. Solomon Naik, AO of Hayathnagar Mandal and his staff also participated in this raid.
