Hyderabad City: In a reward mela held at the City Police Headquarters – TSPICCC, City Police Commissioner Mr.CV Anand IPS rewarded 14 court duty officers, 17 investigation officers and felicitated 5 public prosecutors Mrs. Sailaja, Mr. Sanbasivareddy, Mr. Durgaji, Ms. Ayesha Rafat, Mr. Subhan Javeed and Bharosa legal counselor Mrs. Kalpana, whose collaborative efforts have ended up in conviction in 11 Cases. Convictions were secured for life imprisonment in 8 cases and 20 years Rigorous Imprisonment in 3 cases. He gave away the certificates and cash rewards to all officers.
The hard work of investigating officers right from seizing evidence at the scene of offence to maintaining chain of custody, recording statements , protecting the witnesses and the liaison of court duty officers with the public prosecutors, briefing witnesses synergized the collective efforts and ensured convictions. The impact of the recent co-ordination meeting chaired by the police chief held with all PPOs of the city courts, judiciary officers and staff officers of city police is palpable.
“These awards were constituted to promote high standards of investigation of crime and to recognize such excellence in investigation.” said CP Mr. Anand commending the efforts of the officers and coordination of the two subsystems of the criminal justice system i.e., the Police and Prosecution.
Unlike other units, the load of work and bandobusts in city commissionerate is too high. Despite that our staff officers worked hard and secured convictions with quality of evidence adduced during trial. With the transfer and re-organization of CDO system and many more initiatives in the pipeline in HCP commissionerate, we are confident that our unit will hit a good mark in conviction rate, he added.
The reward details were being recorded on the rewardee service records, so that it benefits during the review, postings and promotions, a new practice since January 2022.
