Hyderabad City, Telangana: A grand farewell ceremony was organized today under the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate to honour 21 police officers who retired after rendering decades of dedicated service. The retiring personnel included one Inspector, seven Sub-Inspectors, ten Assistant Sub-Inspectors, one Head Constable, and two Last Grade Service (LGS) staff.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Sri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, personally felicitated the retiring officers and extended his heartfelt best wishes on behalf of the entire Hyderabad City Police.
Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner lauded the officers for their unwavering commitment and selfless service over long careers spanning 35 to 44 years. He recalled their contributions during critical phases such as the undivided Andhra Pradesh period, the Telangana movement, the COVID-19 pandemic, and several others challenging situations, stating that their tireless efforts played a vital role in ensuring peace and stability in the state.
Expressing pride in their service, Sri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, said that while retirement is inevitable, the experience and dedication of such senior officers would always remain invaluable to the police force. He encouraged the retirees to enjoy a fulfilling “second innings” of life by spending quality time with their families, maintaining good health, and staying mentally and physically active.
The Commissioner also thanked the family members for their constant support and sacrifices, noting that the good health and success of the officers were largely due to their families’ encouragement. He advised the retirees to invest their retirement benefits wisely through reliable government institutions such as banks and post offices, and cautioned them against falling prey to fraudulent schemes and cyber scams, which increasingly target retired personnel.
Praying for their long life, good health, and happiness, the Commissioner once again appreciated the retiring officers for their exemplary service and wished them a peaceful and prosperous retired life.
The farewell ceremony was attended by Smt. K. Venkata Lakshmi, DCP (Administration), Hyderabad; Sri Srinivasulu, CAO; Asif Khan, Secretary of the Police Officers’ Association, along with association members and family members of the retirees, making the occasion a memorable and emotional tribute to years of dedicated policing service.
