Hyderabad City, Telangana, Sept 2025: The Hyderabad City Security Council (HCSC), in collaboration with the Hyderabad City Police, successfully organized the Traffic & Road Safety Summit 2025 at Jal Vihar, Necklace Road.
The two-day summit was inaugurated by Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, in the presence of C.V. Anand, IPS, DG & CP, Hyderabad & Chairman HCSC, along with senior police officials, HCSC members, and stakeholders.
In his keynote, the Hon’ble Governor emphasized road safety as a matter of saving lives, liveability, and public trust, urging society to move from awareness to action and calling for multi-sector collaboration.
C.V. Anand, IPS termed traffic management the city’s “face,” noting Hyderabad’s 92 lakh vehicles with 1,500 added daily. He highlighted major initiatives:
* Operation ROPE – Removal of Obstructive Parking & Encroachments
* Advanced signal systems & VIP convoy coordination
* Drone & high-rise camera monitoring
* AI-based traffic solutions with Google
* 120 trained traffic marshals (corporate-supported)
* 30% incentive to traffic police personnel
HCSC leaders and senior officers stressed the importance of collective ownership, integrated transport systems, adaptive AI-driven traffic signals, structured parking reforms, and equitable pedestrian & cycling infrastructure.
Closing the summit, D. Joel Davis, IPS, Joint CP Traffic, reaffirmed: “This is not an end but a beginning towards safer, smarter, and resilient Hyderabad.”
The summit served as a platform for smart mobility, AI-based enforcement, sustainable infrastructure, and citizen-led road safety campaigns, further strengthening the public–police partnership model in Hyderabad.
