Hyderabad City, Telangana: In a major step to enhance public safety and reinforce night policing, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, Shri V.C. Sajjanar, I.P.S., personally carried out a midnight patrol and surprise inspections in the South West Zone.
From 12:00 AM to 3:00 AM, the Commissioner inspected major roads, key junctions and sensitive locations in the limits of Langar Houz and Toli Chowki Police Stations, assessing patrolling efficiency and readiness of field units. He interacted with patrolling officers, reviewed patrol points and response time mechanisms, and ensured that citizen safety measures were being strictly implemented.
As part of the inspection, the Commissioner paid surprise visits to the residences of rowdy-sheeters in MD Lines, Asham Nagar and Defence Colony areas under Langar Houz PS. He monitored their current activities, counselled them to maintain good behaviour, and warned of strict legal action if they attempted to return to crime. He motivated them to choose a responsible and lawful path in life.
The Commissioner also visited hotels and late-night commercial establishments in the Toli Chowki area and cautioned operators against exceeding permitted business hours.
At Toli Chowki Police Station, Shri Sajjanar reviewed the General Diary, night entries, duty rosters and attendance, and assessed overall preparedness of the night force.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said that surprise night inspections will continue under the People’s Welfare Policing initiative to reinforce visible policing, accountability and quick response. He instructed all officers and staff to remain vigilant at all times and ensure Hyderabad remains a safe and secure city around the clock.
