Hyderabad, Telangana, July 5: In a significant step towards strengthening child protection mechanisms, Hon’ble Supreme Court Justice Suryakant inaugurated the State-Level Conference on ‘Voice for the Voiceless – Children’s Rights and Protection from Sexual Harassment’ in Hyderabad today.
The event witnessed the participation of key dignitaries including Hon’ble Acting Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Sujoy Pal, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Director General of Police Sri Jitender, IPS, ADGP of Women Safety Wing Charu Sinha, IPS, and UNICEF India Representative Cynthia McCaffrey.
The conference served as a platform to deliberate on child safety laws, the POCSO Act, institutional frameworks, and collaborative efforts to ensure a safe environment for children. DGP Jitender and ADGP Charu Sinha reiterated the commitment of Telangana Police to child protection and women’s safety through active enforcement, community outreach, and digital awareness initiatives.
The program reflected a strong convergence of judiciary, government, police, and international agencies toward advocating for the rights and safety of children.
