Hyderabad: Acting on credible information, the HNEW team, in coordination with Banjara Hills Police, conducted a joint operation that led to the arrest of three offenders. The police seized multiple drugs totaling 256 grams, a Maruti Wagon R car, Rs.2,260 in cash, five mobile phones, and packaging materials from the offenders’ possession. The case was registered under the NDPS Act 1985 at Banjara Hills Police Station, Hyderabad.
The Nigerian national drug supplier was identified as Ofozor Sunday Ejike alias Frank, son of the late Ofozor, aged 42 years, and a resident of Bangalore.
The drug peddler was identified as Anas Khan alias Anas, son of the late Anwar Khan, aged 31 years, and the drug delivery boy was identified as Saif Khan alias Saif, son of the late Anwar Khan, aged 27 years. Both are residents of Hyderabad and originally from Madhya Pradesh.
Brief about the offenders:
Ofozor Sunday Ejike, also known as Frank, is a Nigerian national who holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering. He came to India on a sports visa in 2016 and landed in New Delhi, where he represented the All Stars African Sports Club in football. In 2018, he moved to Bangalore, where he struggled to make a living and eventually got involved in drug trafficking, sourcing drugs from fellow Nigerians in Bangalore and supplying them at higher prices to peddlers and consumers in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Anas Khan, a native of Madhya Pradesh, relocated his family to Bangalore after his father’s death and later moved to Hyderabad in 2022. Initially working in car transportation, Anas became addicted to drugs. He later married a woman from Calcutta in 2023, who was also a drug addict. She introduced him to Ofozor Sunday Ejike, from whom Anas began sourcing drugs in bulk and selling them at a higher price in Hyderabad with the help of his brother, Saif Khan. Anas also supplied drugs in bulk to sub-peddlers in Hyderabad, who then sold them to consumers for profit. Further investigation is ongoing to gather more details.
Modus Operandi:
All the offenders in this case are drug addicts. While procuring various types of contraband, they formed connections with Nigerians residing in Bangalore, who were involved in drug trafficking. These offenders sold multiple types of drugs to peddlers, sub-peddlers, and consumers in cash transactions to avoid police detection.
The police seized 36 grams of cocaine, 140 grams of MDMA, 9 Ecstasy pills, 6 LSD blots, 32 grams of charas, 41 grams of mephedrone (MEOW-MEOW), a Maruti Wagon R car (registration No. UA 07 M 5862), Rs.2,260 in cash, 5 mobile phones, 3 weighing machines, 2 small spoons, 9 packing tape rolls, and 6 packets of small-sized zip lock sachets (2x3x180 grams) from the possession of the accused.
