Hyderabad City, Telangana: In a landmark step toward strengthening police professionalism and public service, Director General of Police Sri B. Sivadhar Reddy formally inaugurated a comprehensive skill development program for the Hyderabad City Police titled “Oka Goppa Marpunaku Ide Sreekaram” (This is the Commencement of a Great Change). The launch event was held on Tuesday at the TGICCC Auditorium, Banjara Hills, in the presence of Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Sri V. C. Sajjanar. On this occasion, the dignitaries unveiled specially prepared training manuals for the personnel.
This ambitious program aims to enhance the capabilities of police staff and further improve citizen-centric policing across the city. In a first-of-its-kind initiative in the history of the Hyderabad City Police, 19,488 police personnel across all wings of the Commissionerate will be trained in a phased manner.
To ensure high-quality training delivery, 178 Special Trainers have been selected—comprising 74 ACPs, 98 Inspectors/Reserve Inspectors, and 6 Sub-Inspectors. A dedicatedTraining of Trainers (ToT module has already been completed, enabling these officers to train personnel across their respective divisions.
DGP Sri B. Sivadhar Reddy’s Message
Addressing the gathering, DGP Sri B. Sivadhar Reddy highlighted the importance of continuous reskilling in line with the evolving nature of policing. He emphasized that training is a vital part of every police officer’s growth, helping them adapt to modern expectations and increasing public awareness.
He stated that improved training directly contributes to enhanced public trust in the police system. Complimenting Hyderabad CP Sri V. C. Sajjanar for conceptualizing and implementing this transformative initiative, he expressed confidence that the program would significantly strengthen service delivery standards.

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Sri V. C. Sajjanar stressed that training is the backbone of organizational development. He noted that this program has been meticulously planned over the past month and aims to upgrade skills, unify practices, and shape every participant into a more efficient, disciplined, and responsible police officer.
He reminded the personnel that their behaviour, performance, and public conduct are what enhance the prestige of the Police Force. The Commissioner expressed hope that the training would help officers embrace the future with confidence while learning valuable lessons from the past.
