Hyderabad City, Telangana: In a heartfelt and dignified ceremony, 19 police personnel of the Hyderabad City Police were accorded a grand farewell upon their retirement after rendering long and distinguished service to the department.
The farewell was presided over by Commissioner of Police V. C. Sajjanar, who lauded the retiring officers for their unwavering commitment and dedication to duty. The group comprised four Sub-Inspectors (SIs), ten Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), two Head Constables, and three LGEs, many of whom completed nearly 41 years of commendable service.
Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner praised the officers for their invaluable contributions over the decades, highlighting their journey from the era of traditional foot patrolling to modern vehicle-based patrolling systems. He acknowledged that while their retirement marks the end of an era and is a significant loss to the department, it is also a natural and honorable transition in life.
Emphasizing health and well-being, the Commissioner described retirement as a new beginning and encouraged the officers to lead a happy, active, and healthy life with their families. He also advised them to safeguard their retirement benefits by investing in government banks or post offices and cautioned them against fraudulent schemes and cybercrimes promising unrealistic returns.
In a thoughtful message to family members, he urged them to extend continued respect, care, and emotional support to the retired officers, ensuring their peace of mind and well-being in this new phase of life.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials and representatives of the Police Officers Association and Cooperative Society, who joined in honoring the retirees and celebrating their exemplary service. The event concluded on a note of gratitude and pride, reflecting the strong bond and mutual respect within the police fraternity.
