Hyderabad Traffic Police convened a meeting with various Organizations

Hyderabad: Mr. A.V. Ranganath, IPS., Jt. Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad convened a meeting with Auto Union Members, Hawkers Association Members, RTC and GHMC officials at TSICCC, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad to discuss on traffic remedial measures at Junctions, Bus Bays and on the Main Roads to prevent traffic congestion.

Mr. A.V. Ranganath, IPS., Jt. Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad while addressing the gathering informed that the Hyderabad City is witnessing a drastic growth of vehicles since last few years and the roads remains same and number of new vehicles adding to the existing vehicles is leading to traffic congestion. As such it is the duty of every person to obey traffic rules to improve the image of Hyderabad City.

While interaction with the Auto union drivers, Jt. CP Traffic informed them not to stop their Autos at Junctions which is causing inconvenience to the general traffic and halting their autos in Bus Stops/Bus Bays, due to which RTC Buses are stopping in middle of the roads which is leading to traffic obstruction.  He urged to the Auto drivers to stop their vehicles away from the junctions and not to stop the autos in bus Stops/Bus Bays if Autos are found obstructing the free flow of traffic, the auto will be seized and sent to RTA along with checklist for booking of cases. Even if they again indulge in such violations a criminal case will be booked u/s 341 IPC for wrongful restraint.

While interacting with the Hawkers Association members, Jt. CP Traffic stated that the Hawkers are occupying the carriage way obstructing the free flow of traffic movement.  In this regard, the Jt. CP, Traffic instructed all the Traffic SHOs to identify the locations to relocate hawkers, providing of vending zones in consultation with GHMC authorities and requested the hawkers to not to cause inconvenience to the general traffic. The Jt. CP Traffic instructed the Traffic Inspectors to book criminal cases against the hawkers who are repeatedly obstructing the traffic and strictly not to allow hawkers at Junctions.

In the meeting with RTC officers discussed on arrangements to be made for Dassera Festival for passengers going to their native places. Discussed on traffic issues caused by RTC buses, unused Bus Bays/bus Stops.  Jt. CP Traffic invited the attention of RTC officers to remove the unused bus stops on the roads where Autos are parking their autos and causing traffic congestion on city roads.  Also it was suggested to for rerouting of RTC bus routes on the narrow roads leading to traffic congestion and inconvenience to general traffic. Also, instructed the ACsP and Inspectors to regularly conduct coordination meetings with RTC managers and to take measures to prevent traffic obstruction.

While interaction with GHMC officers, discussed on various issues of traffic management and infrastructure.  Jt. CP Traffic requested the GHMC officers to repaint the divider lines, stop lines, zebra lines as such they are clearly visible to the commuters. Requested to erect traffic signages for free left, No Parking and lay Rumble Strips etc.

In this meeting Mr. N.Prakash Reddy, IPS., DCP Traffic-I, Mr. P. Karunakar, DCP Traffic-II, Hyderabad, Mr.  S. Prasad, Addl. DCP Tr.II, All ACsP, Inspectors and SIs of Traffic Branch along with officers of RTC, GHMC, union members of Auto Unions and Hawkers Association attended.
