Hyderabad, Telangana: In a proactive initiative to strengthen road safety and promote responsible driving habits, the Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted a Traffic Awareness Seminar at Nanal Nagar on March 2, 2026, under the jurisdiction of the Kulsumpura Traffic Police Station.
The programme was led by Shri C. Venugopal Reddy, Additional DCP (Traffic, Golconda Zone), and Smt. D. Dhanalakshmi, ACP (Traffic, Golconda Zone), who addressed motorists and local residents on the importance of strict adherence to traffic regulations. They emphasized mandatory helmet usage for both rider and pillion, compulsory helmet wearing for children above four years of age travelling on two-wheelers, universal seat belt compliance for all vehicle occupants, and disciplined lane driving. Special focus was laid on avoiding overtaking from the left and ensuring heavy vehicles adhere to prescribed speed limits.
As part of the awareness drive, approximately 15 helmets were distributed free of cost to eligible motorists in coordination with the HCSC Team and Young India Team, reinforcing the importance of protective gear in preventing fatalities and serious injuries.
The event was attended by Shri G. Venkateshwarlu, Inspector of Police, Tolichowki Traffic, Shri M. Rajendra Prasad, Inspector of Police, Kulsumpura Traffic, along with other traffic personnel.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police reiterated their commitment to sustained enforcement and continuous public awareness campaigns, urging citizens to cooperate in maintaining disciplined and lawful road usage to ensure safer roads for all.
