Hyderabad City, Telangana, December 31: The arrival of the New Year 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Hyderabad, with grand midnight festivities held at the Telangana State Secretariat, Charminar, KBR Park, and Mehdipatnam Rythu Bazaar. Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Sri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, participated in the celebrations as the chief guest and marked the occasion by cutting cakes along with senior police officials.
On the occasion, the Commissioner extended warm New Year greetings to the people of Hyderabad, police personnel, and their families.
Addressing the gathering, Sri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, emphasized that public safety remains the top priority of the Hyderabad Police. He expressed gratitude to the citizens for their continued cooperation with the police during the past year and appealed for the same spirit of partnership in maintaining law and order in 2026.
The Commissioner also congratulated police officers and staff who remained on duty during festivals and celebrations, staying away from their families to ensure the safety and security of the city. Reiterating the vision of the Hyderabad Police, he stated that the goal is to make Hyderabad a safe, secure, and crime-free city.
He further informed that elaborate security arrangements involving over 10,000 police personnel were put in place across the city to prevent any untoward incidents during New Year celebrations. He thanked all citizens for their responsible behavior and cooperation with the police.
Several senior officers, including Joint Commissioners of Police Mr. D. Joel Davis, IPS and Mr. Tafseer Iqbal, IPS, along with Deputy Commissioners of Police **Ms. Rakshita Krishnamurthy, IPS; Ms. K. Apoorva Rao, IPS; Ms. K. Shilpavalli, IPS; Mr. Kare Kiran Prabhakar, IPS; Ms. Lavanya Naik Jadhav; Mr. CH. Srinivas, IPS; Mr. G. Chandramohan; Mr. CH. Rupesh, IPS; Mr. Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath; Mr. V. Arvind Babu, and other police officers, participated in the celebrations.
The event concluded with officers and citizens exchanging New Year wishes, reflecting the strong bond between the Hyderabad Police and the public.
