Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu: In a major boost to modern policing and public safety, 198 advanced surveillance cameras have been installed across 76 strategic locations falling under Rayakottai, Kelamangalam, and Uttanapalli police station limits in Krishnagiri district. The project, executed at a cost of Rs. 69 lakhs, marks a significant step towards strengthening law enforcement and crime prevention in the region.
The newly set-up control room was inaugurated today at the Rayakottai Police Station. The ceremony was presided over by Krishnagiri District SP Thangadurai, while Coimbatore West Zone IG Senthilkumar formally inaugurated the state-of-the-art facility.
With the integration of 198 cameras into a central monitoring system, the police will now have real-time surveillance capabilities to monitor traffic movement, prevent crimes, and respond swiftly to emergencies. The initiative is expected to improve detection of property offences, enhance road safety, and act as a deterrent against unlawful activities.
Speaking at the inauguration, officials highlighted that technology-driven policing is a priority for the Tamil Nadu Police. The installation of CCTV networks not only aids investigations but also ensures transparency and public confidence in law enforcement.
The Krishnagiri Police have assured citizens that the surveillance system will be effectively utilized to safeguard communities, enhance security, and provide faster responses during critical situations.
