Siliguri: On 27.10.2021, acting on a specific input, officers and men, including lady police personnel, conducted a raid inside a rented apartment at Kathaltala, Shaktigarh, NJP Police Station. During the raid, it was discovered that an illegal call center, Friendship Club was being operated on the third floor of a house by six ladies namely Muskan Parvin of Champasari, Riya Roy of Dhaknikata, Police Station Pradhan Nagar, Swapna Sarkar of Ambika Nagar, NJP, Puja Roy of Kanchanbari, Fulbari, Alisha Gupta of Champasari, and Gulshan Khatun Of South Colony, NJP.
All the accused girls are below 25 years of age. The six ladies who were running the illegal Friendship Club call Centre have been arrested and taken into custody. During the raid eight keypad mobile phones, eight android mobile phones, and one laptop have been recovered and seized from the premises.
The accused, along with their accomplices, were engaged in cheating gullible male customers by engaging them in adult chats and messages. Raids are being conducted to arrest the other persons also who are involved in this racket. A specific case has been registered against the accused persons under proper sections of law and the accused persons are being presented before the Ld Court today. Siliguri Metropolitan Police is committed to keeping the city of Siliguri and its citizens safe and free of any Illegal Call Centres. Our drive against them shall continue.
