Hyderabad, Telangana: In a decisive action against food-related fraud, the Commissioner’s Task Force Golconda Zone, along with personnel from Khairtabad Zone and Goshamahal Police Station, successfully busted an illegal coconut powder manufacturing unit in Begum Bazar.
During the operation, one accused, Nakoul Marotiyaa (31), was apprehended for illegally producing and selling substandard coconut powder. The accused allegedly repackaged the product under branded labels without proper licenses, batch details, or food safety certification, thereby deceiving consumers.
Authorities seized around 8,300 kg of coconut powder, along with packing and weighing machines and related materials, collectively valued at approximately ₹21 lakh.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
This operation highlights the police department’s firm commitment to protecting consumer interests and taking strict action against illegal manufacturing and fraudulent trade practices.
