Trichy: The Trichy Book Festival will be held from 16th to 26th at St. John Vestry High School Grounds. In this regard, the district administration is organizing various programs to create awareness among the public. As a part of it, a book wall has been set up in the district collector’s office for the public to donate good books they have read. They are collected and distributed to rural libraries. This book wall was inaugurated by Ministers KN Nehru and Anbil Mahesh Poiyamozhi. Also, the Ministers gave money bills to school students to save money and buy books for reading, and advertised awareness stickers on buses and drinking water cans about the Book Festival.
In addition, all the letters sent from the Collector’s office have been stamped with the advertisement for the book festival. District Collector Pradeep Kumar, Police Commissioner Mr. Karthikeyan, Mayor Anbazagan, Corporation Commissioner Vaithinathan, District Revenue Officer Abirami, District Library Officer Sivakumar and many others participated in the event. In this situation, Minister K.N. Nehru inspected the work being done in connection with the construction of a bus stand opposite the Srirangam Government Hospital yesterday. Later, he visited the Srirangam flower market area and conducted a field survey regarding flower market development and setting up of an integrated market.
