CHENNAI: The officers of the Income tax department on Friday raided the residence of All India Samuthuva Makkal Katchi President R. Sarath Kumar here on Friday. Nearly eight officers from the IT department came to Sarath Kumar’s house, say sources. Lot of drama prevailed at the actor turned politician’s house in Kottivakkam, ECR in Chennai. Supporters of the politician gathered at Sarath Kumar’s house and raised slogans against the Prime Minister and the central government for targeting their leader. They also demanded the Income Tax sleuths conducting raid to leave the residence. Source said Policenewsplus that nearly eight officers from the IT department came to the politician’s house on Friday morning around 7.00 am to search the residence. A senior official told Policenewsplus, we received a tip off that a party leader had received money to support AIADMK party candidate in RK Nagar Assembly constituency. Money was also distributed in the Radhakrishnan Nagar to influence voters in the oncoming by Election to be held on April 12, IT sources say. ]]>
