Rachakonda: In an effort to root out organized Human trafficking networks in Rachakonda Commissionerate and to create a sense of safety and security among the family system, College going students, and youth not to fall into trafficking network, C.P. Rachakonda invoked proceedings against an Inter-state human trafficking offender under PD Act for organizing prostitution in the limits of Chaithanyapuri Police Station and detained him in the Prison on 07.10.2021.
The accused Shaik Masthan(26) along with his associates used to post girls’ photos on the “LOCANTO website with their phone numbers offering for online and offline women companionship in obscene poses for their wrongful gains. The accused have been exploiting women who were very poor or not having family members, deserted lonely ladies, poor laborers, women under severe depression and inducing them with high return of income on trafficking, forcing them into prostitution and thereby victimizing those who were already victimized in their life. Thus, the poor and gullible women are forced to live in a feeling of insecurity in the hands of these unscrupulous immoral traffic offenders. He used to take OYO lodges on lease from where he is running his activities of human trafficking and running prostitution with girls.
Earlier, he was arrested on the charges of Human trafficking by Kukatpally and Miyapur Police and remanded to judicial custody. Even though, he could not mend his attitude and resort to indulging in similar activities.
On tip-off information, AHTU along with Chaithanyapuri Police arrested the offender on 15-04-2021 and remanded him to judicial custody and rescued a West Bengal origin woman, and sent her to rescue home. Later he was released on bail.
With a view to prevent him from indulging in the Immoral trafficking business and to preserve public order, Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda issued proceedings under PD Act on 26-06-2021 and since then he was absconding and avoided Police apprehension. On 07-10-2021, Chaitanyapuri Police arrested the offender, executed order of detention, and lodged him in Central Prison, Cherlapally on 07-10-2021.
