Telangana, Hyderabad City: The Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, in collaboration with Madhura Nagar Police, apprehended Intipalli Rama Rao, a habitual offender involved in attention diversion crimes.
Intipalli Rama Rao, aged 30, is a B.Tech graduate and former graphic designer. Due to his addiction to online betting, he began committing offenses to finance his habit. He has a criminal history of approximately 55 cases across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with 19 offenses recently confessed, including 9 registered in Hyderabad City.
Rama Rao primarily targets SBI cash deposit ATM centers. He approaches individuals depositing cash, claiming that his ATM card was declined and offers to transfer funds via NEFT or IMPS in exchange for cash. He deceives victims by presenting a fabricated message showing false evidence of money being debited from his account, convincing them to hand over the cash.
The police recovered Rs.5,16,000 in cash and a Vivo V25 Pro mobile phone. The arrest was made by Inspector E. Jangaiah, SI B. Aravind Goud of the West Zone Task Force, and SI Sainath Reddy from Madhura Nagar Police Station, along with the Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone team, Hyderabad City.’
