Hyderabad: On receipt of credible information, the sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), LB Nagar Zone along with Neredmet Police apprehended One Nigerian National by name Mark Owolabi alias Mark Owaloby alias Mark Wolabi alias Jiggi(41) and three other persons viz., Thota Harshavardhan(23), Duddu Pavan Kumar alias Pavan(21) and, Gunapogula Swami Prasad alias Bonny(23) who are indulging in procuring and supplying of drugs to the needy customers and seized 38 grams of Cocaine, Net Cash Rs.22,000/- 3 Two Wheelers, 4 Mobile Phones,1 Digital Weighing Machine, other incriminating material all worth Rs.9,10,000/- from their possession. A case was registered at Neredmet Police Station.
The Police seized Contraband Narcotic Drug (cocaine/-38 Grams, Net Cash Rs.22, 000/-, Pulsar NS160 Bearing Registration No. TS08-HL-5724, Hero Duet Bearing Registration No. TS08EX-8177, Honda Activa Bearing Registration No. AP09CR-9631, RCB Papers, Weighing Machine (Small) 1 No., Adhesive Tape 1 No., Mobile Phones 4 Nos., and other incriminating material. The total worth of seized property is Rs.9, 10,000/-.
The accused Mark Owolabi alias Jiggi is native of Lai Otigbade Street, Pedro Lagos, Nigeria. In the year 2012, he came to Mumbai, India on Business VISA and began exporting fabrics to his country. At present, he is residing at Rab Residency, Paramount Hills, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Mark Owolabi alias Jiggi is addicted to drugs and is a habitual drug peddler. He hatched a plan and started supplying drugs in and around Hyderabad city. During the year 2018, Mark Owolabi alias Jiggi was firstly arrested by the Narsingi Police of Cyberabad in the year for not producing the Passport and Visa. As such he was detained under section 14(A) of Foreigners Act 1946 and produced before the Hon’ble Court and remanded to judicial custody, he was released on bail on 19.12.2018.
Subsequently, he was arrested by Ameerpet Prohibition and Excise Police in the year 2019 and released on bail on 29.10.2019; again he was arrested by Golconda Prohibition and Excise Police in the year 2021 in drugs supplying case and released from jail on 24.9.2021. After releasing from jail, he didn’t change his behavior and mindset, again he started supplying drugs to needy customers. Mark Owolabi alias Jiggi used to deliver Drugs to needy customers in Hyderabad by charging an amount of Rs.10, 000/- to 15,000/- per 1 gram of cocaine.
Thota Harshavardhan, Duddu Pavan Kumar alias Pavan, Gunapogula Swami Prasad alias Bonny and Abhishek Singh are common friends, residents of Neredmet and they used to procure Ganja from the Dhoolpet area of Hyderabad for consumption. Abhishek Singh earlier was arrested by GRP, Secunderabad in a theft case in the year 2014.
Abhishek Singh’s friend earlier went to jail in a drug peddling case, as he was a drug addict, he made a contact with Mark Owolabi alias Jiggi Nigerian National through a common friend. Mark Owolabi alias Jiggi is selling contraband Narcotic drug (cocaine) to needy people. Abhishek Singh common friends Thota Harshavardhan, Duddu Pavan Kumar alias Pavan, Gunapogula Swami Prasad alias Bonny are also contacted with Mark Owolabi alias Jiggi Thota Harshavardhan, Duddu Pavan Kumar alias Pavan, Gunapogula Swami Prasad alias Bonny and Abhishek Singh purchased contraband Narcotic drug (cocaine) from A1. They sell contraband Narcotic drugs (cocaine) to needy people at a higher rate to earn money easily. On interrogation, it came to know that Mark Owolabi alias Jiggi is procuring the contraband drugs through one unknown person resident of Delhi, yet to be ascertained the facts.
On 01.02.2022 in the morning hours, Mark Owolabi alias Jiggi came on his motorcycle to deliver the material to Thota Harshavardhan, Duddu Pavan Kumar alias Pavan, Gunapogula Swami Prasad alias Bonny at Gokul Nagar, Neredmet, on credible information the SOT, LB Nagar Zone team along with Neredmet police apprehended the accused persons and seized 38 grams of Cocaine, Net Cash Rs.22,000/-, 3 Two Wheelers, 4 Mobile Phones, 1 Digital Weighing Machine, other incriminating material all worth Rs.9,10,000/- from their possession.
The above raid was made under the direct supervision of Mr. Mahesh M. Bhagwat, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Mr. G. Sudheer Babu, IPS., Addl. Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, Ms. Rakshitha K. Murthy, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri Zone, and Mr. P. Yadagiri, IPS., Dy. Commissioner of Police (Crimes), I/c. Special Operations Team, Rachakonda, by Mr. B. Anji Reddy, Inspector of Police, SOT, LB Nagar Zone, Mr. A. Narsimha Swamy, Inspector of Police Neredmet Police Station, Sub-Inspectors Mr. A. A. Raju, Mr. Md. Thakiuddin and staff of SOT, LB Nagar Zone, Rachakonda.
