Chikkaballapur: Three inter-state robbers from Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh were arrested on Tuesday after looting the house of a police officer and shooting his son in Chikkaballapur district.
The arrested have been identified as Arif (35) of Bahiram Nagar in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, Jamshed Khan (27) of Chintaman Khate village of Milak taluk of Rampur district and Pathan Mohammad Harris Khan (30) of Kadiri town of Satya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh.
Police recovered three guns, 46 bullets, 3.41 lakh cash, gold chain, 21 silver articles and the car used in the crime from the accused. Search is on for other accused in the case.
On November 9, a gang of five robbers barged into the house of Assistant Police Sub-Inspector (ASI) Narayan Swamy, shot his son and looted gold and cash.
ASI Narayanaswamy’s son Sharath was shot three times by the robbers. He was admitted to the district hospital where his condition is still critical.
The robbers barged into the house and threatened Narayanaswamy, his wife and daughter-in-law with pistols. The thieves pushed Narayanaswamy out of the house and threatened to kill the family members if he told anyone about the incident.
When Sharath, who was at home, tried to save his family members, the robbers shot at him. A case has been registered in Peresandra Police Station and further investigation is underway.
