Palakkad: In 2021, Ottapalam Police Station in Palakkad received recognition from the Ministry of Home Affairs as the best police station. Subsequently, the ISO team conducted a review of the station’s operations on May 2nd, considering factors such as excellence in suspect detection, officer infrastructure, adherence to green protocols, positive interaction with the public, and participation in social welfare activities through the Janmaitri system.
The station’s efficiency in handling complaints involving women, children, and senior citizens also contributed to its ISO certification. The ISO certificate awarding ceremony took place on November 4, 2023, at 10 am in the station courtyard, inaugurated by Ottapalam MLA Mr. Premkumar and chaired by Shornur DySP. Municipal Chairperson Janaki Devi presided over the event, where the Palakkad District Police Chief received the certificate from the ISO Director and presented it to the Ottapalam police officers. Ottapalam Sub Collector Mrs. D. Dharmala Sri unveiled the ISO logo. Former Ottapalam MLA Mr. P. Unni, Ward Councilor Fatimath Suhara, Station House Officer Mr. Sujith, SI. Praveen, Kerala Police Officers Association District Secretary Mr. Manikanthan, and Kerala Police Association District President Mr. Sunil were also in attendance.
