Telangana, Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have uncovered a major job fraud racket, arresting four individuals for allegedly duping 13 job aspirants of ₹26.25 lakh by promising placements in reputed software companies. The accused issued fake offer letters to mislead the victims.
Acting on credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone, along with Marredpally Police, apprehended the accused and seized Rs.5.67 lakh in cash.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
Gaddapolla Pavan Kumar (34), a private employee from Begumpet, Secunderabad.
Boga Revanth (39), a private employee from Old Safilguda, Secunderabad.
Bapatu Rajiv Reddy (32), a private employee from Narasaraopet, Palnadu District.
Sakkinala Sudheer (39), a general store owner from Amberpet, Hyderabad.
Investigations revealed that the mastermind, Pavan Kumar, collaborated with Boga Revanth, who was unemployed at the time, convincing him to pose as an HR manager and conduct fake telephonic interviews. Sakkinala Sudheer, leveraging his experience in job consultancies, provided candidate resumes, while Rajiv Reddy created fake email IDs to send fraudulent offer letters under the guise of multinational companies.
The accused would collect job seekers’ certificates and an initial payment before orchestrating their scam. Pavan Kumar fabricated offer letters using his mobile phone, while Rajiv Reddy used websites like https://emkei.cz to send fake emails, making them appear legitimate. Each member of the racket was paid ₹10,000 per candidate for their role.
On January 28, 2025, based on reliable intelligence, the police arrested the accused and seized ₹5.67 lakh in cash, three fake job offer letters, and five mobile phones. The operation was led by Inspector K. Saidulu (Task Force, North Zone) and Inspector N. Venkatesh (Marredpally PS), along with SI M. Laxminarayana, and members of the North Zone Task Force.
The police have urged job seekers to verify employment offers through official channels to avoid falling prey to such scams. Further investigation is underway.
