Anantapur: The District Superintendent of Police Mr. Fakeerappa IPS and Ms. K.V.Usha, Mr. Charan, MLA Kalyanadurgam have given a joint call for collective effort in eradicating the Jogini system.
The Superintendent of Police and MLA visited the houses of Joginis in Kunukuru(V), Setturu(M), and inquired about their wellbeing and lifestyle.
They also inquired about the benefits of various Government Schemes which they are receiving and have given assurance that the government will be supportive in all respects to them.
SP interacted with the villagers and generated awareness to them towards eradicating the Joginisystem
During the interaction, the Superintendent of Police informed about the plan to organize a large-scale comprehensive health checkup in Anantapur on March 8th to mark International Women’s Day. It was decided to do everything from eye checkups to gynecology tests and free surgeries
SP also spoke that at the Village level, Women Police played a key role in the survey of the Jogini system and to know about their condition and lifestyle.
