Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, June 28: In a major step toward enhancing law enforcement capabilities, Kakinada District Superintendent of Police Shri G. Bindu Madhav, IPS, launched 22 new high-tech two-wheelers at the District Police Office today. This initiative is aimed at strengthening traffic regulation, eliminating anti-social activities, and ensuring faster emergency response across the district.
As per the directives of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan, Home Minister Smt. Vangalapudi Anitha, and State DGP Shri Harish Kumar Gupta, IPS, the vehicles have been specially allotted to enhance the efficiency of Dial 112 emergency services and patrolling efforts.
The fleet includes 20 Apache motorcycles and 2 Royal Enfield Bullets, equipped with modern surveillance technology to support night patrolling, fast response, and access to narrow lanes. During the launch event, SP G. Bindu Madhav personally led the ceremonial ride, symbolizing the district’s commitment to proactive policing.
Key Features and Objectives:
- Swift Emergency Response: The two-wheelers will enable police to reach incident sites promptly, especially in emergencies reported via Dial 112.
- Traffic & Accident Monitoring: Drone surveillance will be used alongside the patrol vehicles to monitor traffic flow and help reduce road accidents.
- Tech-Enabled Policing: Cameras and modern tools fitted on the bikes will help record real-time incident footage and collect evidence.
- Anti-Social Activity Prevention: The vehicles will be deployed in sensitive zones, including religious places and accident-prone areas, to deter unlawful activities and ensure public safety.
- Victim Protection: The initiative also aims to safeguard vulnerable individuals by enabling swift police intervention in dangerous situations.
SP Bindu Madhav emphasized that this modernized mobility will play a vital role in increasing police visibility, improving public trust, and enhancing operational efficiency.
The launch event was attended by Additional SP (Administration) Shri MJV Bhaskara Rao, DSP AR Shri Sri Hari Babu, Peddapuram SDPO Shri Sri Hari Raju, Reserve Inspector Shri Venkateswara Rao, Kakinada Town Inspectors, and officers and staff from the District Police Office. This initiative marks a significant step toward building a safer and more responsive policing environment in Kakinada district.
