Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu: As part of the “Accident-Free Kumari” initiative, the Kanyakumari District Police organized a special traffic safety awareness program for truck drivers in the Kanimadam area, following the directions of District Superintendent of Police Sri Stalin.
The session was presided over by Assistant Inspector Jayaprakash, who highlighted the importance of strict adherence to road safety regulations for the protection of drivers, passengers, and the general public. Truck drivers were given key safety instructions, including:
🔹 Drive slowly near schools and colleges
🔹 Avoid using mobile phones while driving
🔹 Do not overload goods vehicles
🔹 Do not modify or alter the vehicle structure without permission
Police officials shared that road accident deaths in Kanyakumari district have decreased by 50% compared to last year, a major milestone achieved through strict enforcement and consistent awareness activities.
More than 70 truck drivers attended the program, which will continue across the district to further strengthen road safety and reduce accidents.
