Karnataka, Haveri: In a significant cross-state operation, Mumbai Police arrested Bhikram Jalram Bishnoi, a 35-year-old man from Karnataka’s Haveri district, for allegedly sending threatening messages to Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The arrest took place after Bishnoi reportedly demanded Rs.5 crore from the actor via a message to Mumbai’s traffic police WhatsApp helpline, warning Khan to either apologize at a specific temple or face fatal consequences. The message stated that failure to comply would activate their gang’s supposed threats.
Bishnoi, who is originally from Jalore in Rajasthan, is claimed to be associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, a known gangster currently in jail. He claimed to be Lawrence’s brother and used this affiliation to intimidate Khan. The message conveyed that Khan would only be safe if he met the demands stated, implying serious intentions behind the threats. This alarming development comes amid other reported threats to the actor, raising concerns for his safety.
Upon tracing the origin of the threat to Karnataka, a team from Mumbai’s Worli Police Station coordinated with local authorities in Haveri to apprehend Bishnoi. He was taken into custody after a late-night interrogation, and a case was subsequently registered at the Worli police station. Authorities are investigating further to determine any deeper connections or other individuals involved in the scheme.
