Mysuru: In Mysuru District, a comprehensive three-month foundational training program for motor vehicle inspectors from the 15th batch was formally inaugurated at the Karnataka Police Academy. The event was graced by Dr. M.B. Boralingaiah, IPS, who serves as the Director-in-Charge of the Academy, alongside the presence of Mr. Chennabasavanna S.L., IPS, the Deputy Director of the Academy, who played a key role in the ceremony.

This intensive training program has been meticulously designed to equip the motor vehicle inspectors with a robust understanding of various critical subjects. These include the Motor Vehicle Act and relevant laws, the latest amendments and new laws in traffic regulation, and comprehensive training on traffic management systems. In addition, the curriculum places significant emphasis on the Constitution of India, ensuring the inspectors are well-versed in the legal framework they operate within, as well as human rights, to underscore the importance of ethical enforcement.

Moreover, the program includes in-depth training in forensic science, which is increasingly vital for the investigation and analysis of traffic incidents. The inspectors will also be taught the fundamental duties and responsibilities of police inspectors, focusing on how to effectively maintain law and order while ensuring public safety. To enhance their interpersonal interactions, the training incorporates soft skills development, preparing the officers to handle public relations, conflict resolution, and community engagement with greater sensitivity and professionalism. Additionally, the function and responsibilities of the traffic department will be thoroughly covered, offering the inspectors a holistic view of their role within the larger law enforcement ecosystem.

The event saw the attendance of academy officers, staff, and the enthusiastic trainees, marking the beginning of what promises to be a transformative period of learning and professional growth. The Karnataka Police Academy, known for its dedication to fostering high standards of excellence in law enforcement, continues its steadfast mission of promoting values of “Courage, Competence, and Service” among police officers across the state, with the ultimate goal of enhancing public safety and upholding justice.
