Thiruvananthapuram: The state police chief Mr. Lokanath Behera IPS has ordered the formation of a special team led by the Crime Branch IG to probe cases registered in various districts regarding loan frauds through the mobile app.
Crime Branch Ernakulam Range IG Mr. Gopesh Agarwal IPS will lead the team. The SIT comprises Ernakulam Range DIG Mr. Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar, IPS, Crime Branch SPs Mr. Sabu Mathew IPS and Mr. MJ Sojan IPS and DySPs Mr. P Vikraman IPS, Mr. KR Biju IPS, and Mr. P Anil Kumar IPS.
The probe will be conducted in collaboration with the police, CBI, and Interpol in other states as it is suspected that the gang is getting help from other states and abroad.
The state Police Chief has also directed to hand over the cases registered in various police stations in the state regarding online loan fraud to the Special Investigation Team of the Crime Branch.
