Thiruvananthapuram: The use of the internet and mobile phones among children has increased since the study was done through online classes. But now the reality is that kids are using mobile phones for more online games than learning. Those children who used to play outside the house have now turned to mobile games.
Parents complain that excessive use of mobile phones has changed their behavior and caused them mental distress. Parents also share concerns about students who are unable to concentrate on their studies. And many incidents of financial loss through money games. The Kerala Police Online Counseling Project has reported a number of cases in this regard. Games that started as a pastime online have now shifted to games with money beyond limits. Online sites that initially allow you to play for free will later start charging when children become addicted to it. Many children began to use their parents’ accounts for money.
Recently in the Kottayam district, this several cases of money loss were reported. Millions of kids are leaking through online mobile games. They use PDM and other related wallets to withdraw money to play the game. Police are also unable to take action as online gaming companies legally transfer money to children. Parents who give their children mobile phones for an online class should closely monitor their online interactions. They need to check what works on their phone. Restrictions should also be imposed on withdrawals from the account. Attempts should also be made by parents to gradually discourage children who are addicted to games.
