The Kerala Police said that there is a Fraud by advertising marriage through social media. Be wary of scammers contacting prospective matrimonial through social media posing as online agents. Their method is that they have the names of many girls who want to get married, they show the pictures of the girls and if they like the child, they ask for money as a fee. The girl is also spoken to through a conference call to ensure credibility.
The boy informs that he agrees to the marriage and then gives a fake number claiming to be the girl’s. The girl is talking from this number for a few days in the interest of getting married. Meanwhile, after collecting the entire amount in fees, they slowly start trying to get out of the deal. Also come up with reasons like someone in the family has died, is ill or is busy with work. Scammers show pictures of different girls to the victims of these scams, but the woman who talks about the girl who is going to get married is the same woman. Fraudsters target unmarried young men and men who are considering remarriage. Because those who lose money are reluctant to disclose for fear of defamation, the fraud is delayed to the outside world. Beware of such scams.
