Kerala: The Kerala Police said there is a lot of news coming online that old coins and notes are worth lakhs. Mohavila offers current and banned notes. But behind this is a big scam. Bangalore-based housewife sells old Rs.1 lakh online in hopes of earning lakhs. The loss was more than one lakh rupees.
When she saw the online advertisement and put the 1947 coin in his hand for sale, it was priced at Rs.10 lakh. The swindlers then approached her and asked if she could sell the coin for Rs.1 crore. The housewife who believed the offer confirmed the deal and provided her details and bank account details.
At the same time, the swindlers said that if they wanted to transfer Rs.1 crore, they would have to pay more than Rs.1 lakh as income tax. She believed it and handed over more than one lakh rupees several times. But when the money was handed over and there was no response from the other side, they realized that it was a money trap.
