Kerala: The Kerala Cyber Crime Police said that recently, there have been instances in which many businesses have been swindled by promising to pay in advance via digital payment. It is essential that digital cash transactions must be done with caution.
The Police said the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) is a payment system that strengthens the digital payments industry. The feature of UPI is that it is easy to make transactions at any time through mobile phone apps. It is essential to keep the PIN confidential while making digital payments. Do not share the UPI PIN with anyone, just like an ATM PIN. It can make your information known to others because it is familiar or even claims to be a customer care representative.
When you use UPI to buy goods, your phone will need to collect the request and that payment will be completed only if you accept it. You cannot make money through UPI without your authorization. So when collecting collections, verify them clearly and confirm that your cash flow is the same and only approve it. You don’t have to pay a UPI pin to get the money. You need to take note of where your money is going. Download and use only trusted apps for digital payments. Personal information, including your name information, can be accessed by typing on the screen through harmful apps.
Only pay for your UPIN when you pay for trusted apps. Be cautious when sharing your UPI PIN on websites or forms that receive links. Reject Collect Request by Strangers: Sometimes, a stranger may send collect requests to your UPI ID. This can be confusing. If you are not familiar with the request sender, please refuse the request. Use the Payment App alone to contact Customer Care. Find customer care and support information from your payment app. Do not use unreliable numbers found on the Internet. There have been instances of fraudulent customer care numbers on the Internet.
