Tirupathur: At the foothills of Jinnuka Vattam area under Velakalnattam panchayat next to Natarampalli in Tirupathur district, yesterday morning a youth stopped his car and wandered around the area. When the local people got suspicious and questioned the youth, it was revealed that he was from Kerala. He said that he had come for research and went into the forest. The people told him not to go into the forest saying that there was movement of leopards in the forest. He said that he has weapons to protect himself and went into the forest yesterday morning. He did not come out until yesterday evening.
Suspicious of this, the villagers put water barrels on the road to block the car so that it could not be taken out. After that they informed Nattrampalli police and revenue department. Accordingly, Natarampalli Police Inspector Mrs. Shanti, Police Assistant Inspector Mr. Munirathnam, and the police, rushed to the spot and conducted an investigation. Then a shephard caught the Kerala youth and brought him to the foothills and handed him over to the police. When the police interrogated him, he said that he was Mohammad Naseer (28) from Kerala and that he had rented a car in Chennai two days ago. Subsequently, the police impounded the car.
