Madhya Pradesh, Khandwa,– April 2025: In a commendable effort to assist the public and curb cyber-related crimes, Khandwa Police have successfully recovered 73 lost mobile phones within a month as part of the special drive “Operation Sahayog.”

Launched under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Mr. Manoj Kumar Rai, the campaign was initiated in March 2025 with a clear objective — to locate and return mobile phones reported lost or stolen across the district. The initiative witnessed coordinated action between the Cyber Cell and all local police stations.

Under the able guidance of Additional SP (City) Mr. Mahendra Taranekar and Additional SP (Rural) Mr. Rajesh Raghuvanshi, the cyber team and station in-charges worked diligently to track down the missing devices. Their efforts culminated in the recovery of 73 mobile phones worth approximately Rs.11 lakh, which have since been returned to their rightful owners.

The recipients, visibly grateful and appreciative, expressed their happiness and lauded the proactive approach of Madhya Pradesh Police. This initiative not only showcases the department’s technical efficiency but also highlights its commitment to public service.

SP Mr. Rai also took the opportunity to educate the public about cyber safety. He urged citizens to remain vigilant against online fraud and digital arrest scams, and to immediately report suspicious activities via the 1930 cyber helpline or their nearest police station. He also advised that in case of a lost mobile phone, citizens should promptly file a report on the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal.

Operation Sahayog stands as a shining example of people-friendly policing and technological integration in law enforcement, building stronger trust between the police and the public.
