Jammu: In a recent incident, a minor girl who had been kidnapped in the last week of April was rescued by the police on Monday, May 2nd, from the forests of Dachhan in Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir. The abductor, Sajad Hussain, a resident of Dachhan, was subsequently arrested.
The kidnapping was reported by the girl’s father on April 27th in a written complaint to the Dachhan police station. The father alleged that Sajad Hussain had abducted his daughter. The police registered a case under relevant sections of the law and initiated an investigation accordingly.
After generating leads, the police were able to rescue the minor girl and arrest her abductor from the forest areas of Dachhan. The girl was later produced before the child welfare committee at Kishtwar, where all medico-legal formalities were completed. Finally, the girl was reunited with her family, providing some comfort to her distraught parents.
