Kohima: On the night of 12/01/2020, an ATM booth of Axis Bank located at High School Junction opposite Vishal Mart, Kohima was vandalized and cash inside the ATM booth was looted by an unknown miscreant. Immediately, on receipt of information, Kohima Police swung into action and investigation was undertaken in order to arrest the miscreant and recover the stolen cash. Accordingly, on 13/01/2020, the investigation team led by Mr. M. Yambemo Humtsoe, SDPO (North), Kohima arrested one Dzuvileto Natso aged 29 years, who was working as a Custodian of Cash Management Services (CMS).
Later in the course of the investigation, the stolen cash amounting to Rs.21,14,000/- was recovered from the basement of a residential complex at Razhü Point, where the arrested person was residing. In connection with the instant case, the police had earlier recovered an amount of `10,16,500/- (ten lakhs sixteen thousand five hundred only) from the place of occurrence which was left behind by the accused, making the total cash recovery to an amount of `31,30,500/- . In this connection, a case has been registered at North Police Station vide North PS Case No. 03/2020 U/S 380 IPC and further investigation is on.
