Kottayam: The Police said that it has been noticed that customers are getting some fake mobile messages that the power will be disconnected if the money is not paid as soon as possible / Aadhaar number is not connected to the power connection. A special mobile application on the mobile phone pretending to be an official of KSEB by contacting the mobile number in the message, such fraudsters have a style of asking people to install and then taking the customer’s bank information and stealing money. The public should be extremely wary of such fake messages.
Messages sent by KSEB include details such as bill amount to be paid, 13 digit consumer number, section name, due date and link to pay customer service website (wss.kseb.in). Personal information at any stage, including customer bank account information and OTP are not demanded by KSEB officials. Do not share any information with strangers that may allow hacking into your mobile phone or computer. If you receive any suspicious calls or messages regarding bill payment, please call the Toll Free Customer Care Number 1912 or the KSEB Section Office as soon as possible.
