Chandigarh: The Chandigarh police is committed to its motto “We Care For You” in general and in connection with the outbreak of COVID-19 in particular. In recognition of exemplary services rendered by Chandigarh Police, various communities leaders gathered at Burail masjid and Madarasa Complex including Mollana Shakil Ahmed Kasmi, Ex-Chairman Chandigarh Wakf Board, Mollana Mohammad Ajmal Khan, Imam Jama Masjid Sector-20, Chandigarh, Sh Kari Shemsher Ali Kasmi, Ex-Vice President Jamiat Ulma Haryana/ Punjab and Chandigarh as well as Imam Jama Masjid Sector-45, Chandigarh, Mufti Mohammad Anas Kasmi, Imam Noorani Masjid Sector-26, Chandigarh, Mollana Mohammad Imran, President Jammat-e-Ulma Chandigarh on the behalf of Muslim community and market president Soni felt thankful and presented appreciation letters to Mr. Sanjay Baniwal IPS, DGP Chandigarh Police, Mr. Omvir Bisnoai IPS, DIG, Ms.NilambariJagadale IPS SSP/UT and Mr.Ram GopalDSP/CID Chandigarh for helping at the time of need including during the protest of NRC, CAA, and the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country as a token of their love and affection for caring them in an exemplary manner.
The allegations were leveled in the media/social media against Tablighi Jammat, especially those who visited at Tabligh at Hazrat Nizammudin New Delhi for spreading COVID-19 in Delhi as well as other parts of the country. Though there were high apprehensions of spreading COVID-19 in Chandigarh through the members of Tablighi Jammat, who visited at Tabligh at Hazrat Nizammudin New Delhi and other places, these were nullified with the exemplary coordination between Chandigarh Police by Mr.Ram Gopal, DSP/CID and the members of the Muslim community of the city which is evident from the facts that no Tablighi found infected of COVID-19 out of 26TJs of Chandigarh who visited Hazrat Nizammudin New Delhi and other Tablighi.
In the dynamic leadership of Mr. Sanjay Baniwal IPS DGP UT Chandigarh, the role of Chandigarh Police in general and Ms.Nilambari Jagadale IPS SSP Chandigarh, Mr.Ram Gopal CPS, in particular, remained outstanding in a hard time, as a result of which, not the single unpleasant incident occurred in the city beautiful during NRC, CAA, NPR, Ramjan Month, Sab-e-Brat and Eid-Ul-Fitr. The Chandigarh Police again proved its motto” We care for You” as migrant labor, students, and workers of Jammu and Kashmir stranded in Chandigarh due to the outbreak of COVID-19 Pandemic were sent back timely and safely to their destinations due to proper and effective liaisoning. The leaders of the Kashmiri Muslim community of Chandigarh paid their gratitude to the officers of Chandigarh Police for their duty with humanity.
They also informed that the copy of these appreciation letters would also be submitted before the Hon’ble President of India, Prime Minister of India, Union Minister for Minorities, His Excellency the Governor Punjab, and Advisor UT Chandigarh.
